Dresden Plate Glass Window An original variation of the traditional Dresden Plate block made for the National Quilt Museum's "New Quilts From An Old Favorite" contest. I challenged myself to use only 2 fabrics (black and a multicolor batik). Fussy cutting and heavy machine quilting yielded the dramatic look of a stained glass window. One of 18 winners in the competition.

Crossings VIII: Cut Pekoe & Black All fabrics were dyed in tea and then stitched into a swirl with each section uniquely free motion quilted. The circle was cut out once the quilt was finished and beaded back in as part of my "Crossings" series where the beads cross the gap and hold the broken pieces of my quilt together as my faith in Christ holds the broken pieces of my life together.

Crossings VI: The Rose of Chris & Sharon A collaboration with my dear friend Sharon Rotz of Mosinee, WI. Another "New Quilt From An Old Favorite" winner. We sent the quilt back and forth until it was finished, each doing whatever we wanted when it was our turn! Due to our shared faith it is another in my "Crossings" series. This time the borders are beaded on. |

Crossings V: God Is Light and In Him Is No Darkness At All Inspired by the Milwaukee Art Quilter's challenge: "Opposing Forces". Another of my "Crossings" series where the beads cross the gap and hold the broken pieces of my quilt together as my faith in Christ holds the broken pieces of my life together. |

Otterly Immersed In Art Quilts Made for a contest entitled "Self Portrait of the Artist as an Animal". Although I hope I don't really resemble an otter too strongly, I do love to read in the bathtub every evening while envisioning my next fiber art creation. |

Two Friends Monkeying Around Another winning collaboration with Sharon Rotz for the "New Quilts From An Old Favorite" contest. The piecing of this monkey wrench variation is very simple while the quilting and trapunto are quite complex and feature many monkeys chasing each other around with wrenches. |

Vanishing Point Inspired by a challenge entitled "On Point". The quilt needed to look as if one square is set, on point, on top of another and the theme had to have something to do with the word "point". |

Honeymoon In St. Louis Made from a photograph my husband took of me in 1976. The quilt was constructed using my Replique technique. |

Into the Light - A Journey of Faith Inspired by the Milwaukee Art Quilter's "Windshield Visions" challenge. I am driving down the twisting, curving road of life towards the light of Christ. In the rear view mirror is the dead and sinful life I'm attempting to leave behind. Our challenge quilts won Best of Show in the Ultimate Guild Challenge at the AQS Quilt Show in Nashville. |
